After Nasty Flu, 90 Day Fiancé’s Kim Urges Followers To ‘Stay Healthy’

After succumbing to a rough flu, 90 Day Fiancé star Kim Menzies has strong words of caution for her followers heading into the holiday season.

90 Day Fiancé star Kim Menzies recently posted a health update after falling ill, and she wants her followers to take this cold and flu season seriously. Kim made her franchise debut on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 5, where she romantically pursued international superstar Usman “Sojaboy” Umar. But by the end of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 7, it seems their relationship may be over. The two got into a hurtful fight in the finale and the Tell All previews don’t reveal anything about their reconciliation. Still, Kim has kept up a positive attitude on social media, where she loves to interact with her followers.

Unfortunately for Kim, her holidays may be overshadowed by a nasty illness, as she recently shared in an Instagram story. “What in the holy hell is this flu/cold mess?” Kim said on Instagram. “I got it so fast and feel so bad.” The 90 Day Fiancé star clarified that what she caught is not COVID-19, which is likely a relief. However, Kim was shocked by how fast this flu took hold. “I was fine yesterday and woke up today and wham!,” Kim commented, adding, “Stay healthy people!” Though she didn’t say so expressly, Kim must be worried about whether she will be feeling better in time to celebrate Christmas with her son Jamal Menzies.

90 Day Fiancé Star Kim Previously Said She Wants To Work On Her Health

Much of Kim’s Happily Ever After? storyline took place overseas, as she went on multiple trips to Nigeria to see Usman. However, this season also included Kim’s heartbreak over her mother passing away. Kim and her mother were very close, and the 90 Day Fiancé cast member saw her death as a wake-up call. She spoke on the show about wanting to take her health more seriously, so she could be strong for her son. Kim expressed a desire to start working out more, focus on a healthy diet, and quit smoking. It’s unclear how much progress she’s made as far as improving her health, and her recent flu could be a sign that she isn’t as focused as she could be.

Getting sick before the holidays is just about everyone’s worst nightmare, and Kim especially must be concerned, considering her Christmas celebration may be on the smaller side. With her mom gone, it may just be Kim and Jamal together, and being sick would certainly put a damper on the celebration. This will be Kim’s first Christmas without her mother, and she probably has a lot of difficult feelings to work through. Being sick on top of that is just more stress that Kim doesn’t need right now. However, with her message to her followers to “stay healthy,” Kim isn’t just thinking about herself, but is hopeful that her supporters can have the happy and healthy holidays that she is also wishing for.

The holidays can be a stressful time for many people, and some are also dealing with difficult memories or trauma associated with this time of year. Perhaps it is the emotional stress of her first Christmas without her mom that weakened Kim’s immune system and allowed a nasty flu to take hold. Hopefully the 90 Day Fiancé star can rest up and feel well in time to create new Christmas memories with her son Jamal.
