Coronation Street has been dramatic lately, with Sam Blakeman finally getting his wish to meet his mother’s killer, Harvey Gaskell, in prison.

There’s also been drama regarding the ownership of the Bistro, with Debbie and Leanne locking horns over the business.

The two storylines will converge next week, with the latest episodes uncovering a new twist in the saga.

At the beginning of the week, Leanne tells Nick that it’s time they admit to Debbie that they can’t afford to buy her out, before they accompany Sam to visit Harvey.

Once there, Harvey gives Nick a note, revealing that he’s willing to give him some funds in order to buy the Bistro; given his duplicity, can Harvey really be trusted?

Later on, Debbie approaches the couple and informs them she has decided to accept their original offer for the Bistro, much to their relief.

However, things take a turn for the worse, with Leanne lunging at Debbie in The Rovers after finding out the building is riddled with dry rot.

After being quoted £20,000 to fix the problem, Leanne and Nick ask Sam if they can use the money he inherited from his late mother, Natasha, but the youngster is adamant he’s saving the money to fund his university studies.

With the couple strapped for money, Nick has no choice but to accept Harvey’s offer. Instead of telling Leanne the truth, he lies by saying the money is coming from Melissa, Natasha’s sister.

With Nick risking it all by placing his faith in Harvey, actor Ben Price recently discussed the actions of his “naive” character, saying: “As Nick is Nick, he will try and get away with it until it’s too painful and he’ll have to tell [Leanne]. But he thinks he can easily get away with this. He also thinks he can easily pay it back.”

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
