Coronation Street updates fans on absent character in John story

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street has updated viewers on what Rosie Webster is up to after she was mentioned in the John Stape book storyline.

A true-crime book all about the serial killer’s exploits has put an unwanted spotlight on his ex-wife Fiz and their daughter Hope, but there are other scandalous stories about current and former Weatherfield residents in the book.

Rosie Webster was another victim of the killer, and while she made it out alive, she endured multiple kidnapping attempts before he was finally arrested.

In Monday’s episode, Sally was chatting with Kevin about how she’d fallen out with Fiz because she was reading the Stape book. Sally maintained she wanted to get ahead of a potentially “triggering” incident for Rosie.

Kevin questioned how Rosie was holding up after having “all those horrible memories” dredged up in this book.

“Between you, me and the gatepost, she’s loving all the attention,” Sally admitted. “She’s hoping this will be her break, you know, if they make John Stape: The Movie, she’ll get to play herself!”

Rosie’s reaction should come as no surprise to viewers, as she has always been looking to become famous. Her exit in 2018 saw Rosie being spotted by a modeling agent in Japan after appearing on ITV’s This Morning alongside Gemma and Craig Tinker discussing drug smuggler Antoine.

While Rosie is still chasing international fame, actress Helen Flanagan recently said she’d “love” to return to the cobbles at some point after her dream wedding.

“I think it’s obvious that everything I do work-wise just works around the kids. So yeah, probably when [son] Charlie gets a little bit older, maybe,” she added to OK!

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
