EastEnders confirms 2023 kidnap story for Kat and Tommy

EastEnders has confirmed a terrifying 2023 storyline for Kat Slater and her son Tommy Moon.

The pair will be kidnapped in mysterious circumstances in early January, setting the stage for a dramatic set of episodes.

The show’s New Year episodes see Kat’s fiancé Phil Mitchell take centre stage following his recent time away from Albert Square.

Phil is currently in trouble as vengeful DCI Keeble is continuing to make demands, which could tear the Mitchell family apart for good.

It’s also only a matter of time before Phil comes face-to-face with Keanu Taylor, who has just returned to Walford after nearly three years away.

Despite these pressures, Phil enjoys seeing in 2023 with his family by his side. His good mood doesn’t last for long, though, as he soon delivers a serious threat to someone in Walford.

Feeling triumphant in the aftermath, Phil organises a celebratory Mitchell lunch to bring the family together. Unfortunately, not everybody is so pleased with how Phil is handling his various problems.

Phil seems to be alienating Kat, who complains to her ex-husband Alfie Moon.

Kat claims that Phil’s behaviour has created a big mess. Alfie finds himself in the surprising position of defending Phil, admitting that he’d want the Walford hard man in his corner if he ever got into trouble.

Later, trouble does arrive on the Square as four masked men bundle Kat and Tommy into a van.

Phil soon realises that he has been double-crossed by somebody and takes matters into his own hands, but can he bring Kat and Tommy back home safely? And who is responsible for their ordeal?

EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
