EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders fans will already know that Mick Carter is going to propose to Janine Butcher next week, and now it’s been revealed what’s going to happen next.
In scenes airing next week after Monday’s proposal episode, Linda lets slip to Shirley about what Mick has done, and Shirley is unsurprisingly fuming. She asks Linda to think about how they can stop the marriage going ahead.
Meanwhile, Linda senses that something isn’t sitting right with Mick, and has a talk with him about his future and whether this is something he really wants.

Elsewhere, Sharon Watts organises a blind date for Linda, but when he fails to show up, Alfie Moon steps in to buy her a drink, and Mick is clearly annoyed.
Later on, Mick and Linda reminisce about when they first bought the pub together as Alfie turns up for a shift. Mick tells him that, unfortunately, his services won’t be needed and apologises for having to let him go. Alfie retorts by asking Mick if he really loves Janine, ticking Mick off.
But is that because Alfie is onto something?
Whatever happens, we know that this storyline will eventually lead to both Danny Dyer and Charlie Brooks exiting the soap – although it looks like Dyer’s departure might be more permanent.

“I was only ever due back to EastEnders for a year, but when [executive producer] Chris Clenshaw presented me with his idea for the story, I couldn’t say no to staying a little longer,” Brooks said in a statement.
“I’ve had an amazing time, as I always do when I go back. But as always with Janine, she probably should not outstay her welcome – for everyone’s sake.”
EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
