EastEnders spoilers follow.

Clair Norris has told worried fans that she is not quitting her role as Bernie on EastEnders after announcing her new project.

The actress announced earlier that she will be starring in one of ITVX’s flagship shows called Tell Me Everything by posting a few pictures of her filming for the series on Instagram.

This left the fans of the soap worried that Norris might be exiting EastEnders. However, she has now responded to a comment on her post, making it clear that she is still a part of the soap.

One fan had commented below her post thinking she had left the show: “I didn’t realise you had left EastEnders, good luck on your new venture.”

However, Clair cleared up the confusion by replying: “This was filmed last year! I’m still with my EE family.”

Meanwhile over on EastEnders, Janine Butcher is currently in the middle of planning her dream wedding to Mick Carter and their subsequent departure from the square, but Shirley Carter has become suspicious that she is having an affair.

And now in upcoming scenes, we will see Shirley try to prove just that by saying that Janine is involved with someone named Steve, but then she will find incriminating pictures of Mick’s daughter Frankie. Chaos is bound to ensue.

Charlie Brooks, who plays Janine, opened up about what she thinks of the upcoming episodes.

“I think Janine is oblivious to the actual extent of it, and Shirley thinks that she’s having an affair,” she said. “I don’t think Janine knows that, and that comes as a bit of a surprise. But she’s almost amused by Shirley because she doesn’t think that anyone’s got anything on her.

“It’s only Scarlett, at this point, who could really mess it all up. I think Janine is almost weary and slightly amused by Shirley.”

EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
