Emmerdale has aired Vanessa Woodfield’s exit scenes.
Wednesday’s (November 30) episode featured a temporary goodbye for Vanessa, as actress Michelle Hardwick has gone on maternity leave after welcoming daughter Betty Brooks with Emmerdale producer Kate Brooks earlier this month.
This swansong saw Vanessa and girlfriend Suzy Merton split up for now, while leaving the door open to revisit their romance once Ness returns from her job in Canada.

Over at the pub, Vanessa had a heart-to-heart with former partner Charity where she expressed how happy she was that Charity had found Mack.
When it came time for Vanessa to leave, Suzy nearly caused a traffic disaster by stepping in front of her cab to say her goodbyes.
After Suzy assured Vanessa she’ll “smash it” with the new job, they both recognised that some time apart was probably best.

Vanessa added: “Never say never, eh?”
The couple shared a kiss and told one another they loved each other, while several of their friends cheered them on from down the street. Vanessa then got back into the cab and left for now.
