1. Emmerdale: Cain’s secret comes under threat
(Wednesday at 7pm on ITV1)
Kyle’s guilt in Al’s murder case is becoming one of Emmerdale‘s worst-kept secrets, with Moira, Amy and Mack all aware that Cain is covering for his young son.
Matty seems likely to join that list when he becomes determined to find out why Amy and Moira have both fled to Belfast with little explanation. He senses that it’s all tied up with the real reason for Al’s death.
Despite warnings from Chas not to meddle, Matty pays a visit to Cain in prison and shares his suspicions that something isn’t right.
No-nonsense Cain dismisses Matty’s speculation and believes that he has done enough to throw his stepson off the track. Unfortunately, Matty can tell that Cain is lying and seems unlikely to let this drop.
(Wednesday at 8pm on ITV1)
Stephen takes on a new job as a fast food delivery driver, but is determined to keep this under wraps as he maintains the charade of being a successful businessman.
The killer’s first shift takes a difficult turn when he’s tormented by a group of teenagers, who steal his delivery box and work phone before demanding money from him.
Stephen fears that his house of cards could crumble when he spots Tim’s mum Elaine approaching from afar. Wanting to avoid awkward questions, Stephen tries to scarper but falls from the vehicle.
The accident brings unwanted attention to Stephen, but before he knows it, he’s spinning tall tales to Elaine to explain himself. The big question is whether Elaine will buy it – and whether her concern for Stephen could land her in his firing line in the long run.
3. EastEnders: Dot’s death is confirmed
(Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One)
Sonia spends most of her week focused on Janine’s dramas. With Janine fearful that she could lose Mick to his ex-wife Linda, she turns to Sonia as an ongoing confidante. However, Sonia is concerned when she catches Janine lying to Mick in a desperate bid to manipulate his emotions.
Sonia’s attentions shift elsewhere when she receives an upsetting phone call, confirming that Walford legend Dot has sadly passed away.
The story paves the way for an on-screen tribute to the late June Brown, who passed away this year at the age of 95.
Dot will get an on-screen funeral in a specially-extended episode next month, with familiar faces returning to Walford for the occasion.
4. Hollyoaks: Goldie’s quest for justice continues
(Thursday at 7pm on E4 and Friday at 6.30pm on Channel 4)
Goldie’s family realise how much she’s missing home and plot to bring her back into the fold. Unfortunately, the issue of Bobby’s guilt continues to come between the family.
Goldie consults with Verity over how best to address Bobby’s role in Sylver’s death. Verity suggests building a case against him before involving the police.
Wasting little time, Goldie starts searching for evidence of Bobby’s dark side and Mercedes calls her bluff by getting involved too, convinced that nothing incriminating will be found.
Mercedes is wrong-footed when she and Goldie make a disturbing discovery.
5. Emmerdale: Vanessa leaves the village

Suzy and Leyla’s innocence is quickly established and Vanessa is mortified to have made such a big mistake. Although Vanessa hopes to make amends, a conversation with Suzy leads them both to accept that their relationship is over.
The split comes just as Vanessa is planning to take on a new job in Canada for a year. She announces her plans to leave without Suzy.

Tragically, plans for the baby’s future are shattered when Summer suffers a miscarriage. Aaron supports his girlfriend following the upsetting turn of events, but neither of them knows how to break the news to Mike and Esther.
Even when the teens spend time with Mike and Esther later in the week, they find themselves unable to tell the truth. Can they find a way to be honest rather than stringing the couple along?
