Emmerdale‘s Cain Dingle made another heartbreaking decision in tonight’s (November 29) hour-long episode, as Sam visits him in prison.

Cain is currently in prison as he is taking the blame for his son Kyle shooting Al Chapman, something that only a few people (not including Sam) know about .

In the visitors’ room, the two talked about how everyone was doing, and the possibility of a reduced sentence, with Cain admitting that he was struggling with the thought of doing 20 years in prison.

“It’s hard, Sam. In here,” he said. “To answer your question honestly. When you’ve got things on the outside. Them boys, Sarah, not many times in my life when people have needed me… We both know I’ll be visiting Dad’s grave by the time I get out.”

As the visiting time was up, Cain told Sam not to return again: “It’s not personal and it’s not you. I just can’t do this in here if I’m thinking about everything else out there. Sam, this is killing me. Look, I’m best off on me own. I will be fine. Tell Dad goodbye.”

Will he be okay isolating himself from his family, or will he change his mind?
