Emmerdale’s Charity Dingle faces prison threat in Christmas storyline

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Charity Dingle could be set to go to prison this Christmas.

This upcoming twist on Emmerdale begins at baby Esther’s christening, with Amelia left touched by Noah’s support, yet Lydia’s disappointment is plastered all over her face when Samson refuses to accompany her there.

Meanwhile, Chloe and Amy are confrontational around Chas and Charity, following those recent tensions involving the mysterious Al affair, and soon they rub the latter up the wrong way when they burst into argument.

When Chloe and Amy arrive at the christening later on, at Chas’s invitation, Charity is less than impressed.

Her ongoing feud with Amy threatens to spill over into the ceremony, and soon enough it does as the pair can’t refrain from bickering.

Verbals soon transform into a physical altercation, and PC Swirling is there to witness the whole thing, leading Amy and an under-arrest Charity to provide statements.

24 hours later, Amy nurses a bruised wrist from her fight with Charity, while Chloe is conflicted over how things escalated so drastically.

Having been released from jail pending further investigation, Charity puts on a brave face in front of Mackenzie, who subsequently attempts to coerce Chloe into editing her statement.

Concerned about Charity’s freedom, Chloe then tries to get Amy to see reason in regards to her false police report.

Elsewhere in the Dingle world, roguish Cain is about to encounter his long-brother Caleb in an hour-long Christmas Day special, played by Waterloo Road‘s Will Ash.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
