Emmerdale’s Natalie J Robb opens up over split from co-star

Emmerdale star Natalie J Robb has opened up about life after her split from co-star Jonny McPherson, saying there is no bad feelings between them.

Speaking to The Sun about being on set with her ex, who plays Dr Liam Cavanagh on the soap, Robb revealed the pair still get along as friends and had recently been filming together.

“We were doing a few scenes together the other day and it was lovely to see him,” she said when asked if the break-up had made things awkward on set.

“Our characters don’t really have much to do with each other on screen, so it was nice working with him.”

The actress, who plays Moira Dingle, went on to discuss their relationship, revealing that the pandemic had complicated things for them.

She continued: “Unfortunately, it was Covid times, so there was this added pressure. He moved in with me during the first lockdown and it was just too intense, too soon.

“And if you’re not used to that, which I hadn’t been for a while, we realised pretty quickly that we were better off as friends.”

Robb and McPherson had started dating back in July 2020, with the pair spending several weeks together during the first lockdown.

Meanwhile, Robb has plenty to look forward to on-screen as her character Moira continues to help with the cover-up of Al Chapman’s murder.

As viewers will know, Moira, Cain Dingle and Amy Wyatt are currently attempting to hide the truth about Al’s death from the police, with Cain planning to take the blame instead of his son Kyle.
