Home and Away‘s Ray Meagher has teased a new storyline for his character Alf Stewart.
The Australian soap star is among the longest-running cast members on Home and Away, having first appeared as Alf since the soap’s debut episode in January 1988.
Meagher has confirmed that he’s been discussing a new 2023 storyline for Alf which he feels will resonate with older viewers of the show especially.

“I’ve been talking to our script producer about a potential Alf storyline – I can’t say much, but it’s different for Home and Away,” the actor told TV Week.
“Our traditional audience is a bit younger, but I think this one will be relevant to people my age.”
One of the most well-known faces on the Aussie soap, Meagher has been nominated for a Gold Logie Award for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television twice, winning the award in 2010. He received his second nod in that category last July.

“The Gold Logie nomination for the second time – I suppose the averages aren’t bad: win one, lose one – I’m pretty happy with that,” Meagher said. “The nomination is always good.”
Meagher also added that he’s looking forward to a “break and a recharge” in Queensland this holiday season, away from “the mad flurry leading up to Christmas”.
“It’s a great time to get together with family and friends,” he said.
